Castration and murder of Ukrainian Prisoner of War

On 28 July, a video emerged of what appeared to be a Russian soldier castrating a bound Ukrainian prisoner of war with a box cutter before shooting him in the head. An open source investigation, conducted by Bellingcat and members of the Conflict Intelligence Team on 5 August geolocated the scene and identified the perpetrator. The incident led to an international outcry.
