Kherson counteroffensive begins

After months of speculation, Zelenskyy announces the beginning of a counteroffensive to retake Kherson, Kherson Oblast. Over the next three months Ukraine would advance south from Mykolaiv and down the bank of the Dnieper, and would go on to liberate 1,200km² from Russian occupation by early October, liberating Kherson city in November from retreating Russian troops.
