Myanmar Witness collects, analyses, verifies, and archives evidence related to human rights incidents and violence in the conflict in Myanmar. The project provides reliable information to diverse stakeholders including civil society, media and advocacy organisations and initiatives, as well as to justice and accountability mechanisms holding perpetrators to account.
A military jet reportedly bombed residents preparing for a funeral in Htee Lin village on 22 January 2026, then struck again as survivors tried to help the wounded. Myanmar Witness verified footage showing at least 10 casualties, including individuals believed to have been displaced by recent fighting in the region.
Myanmar Witness has created a number of maps in order to help researchers, journalists and CSOs explore evidence related to human rights incidents in Myanmar and see patterns and trends that have emerged since the coup.
