The destruction of Rafah: A city unmade

CIR’s investigation into Rafah found widespread destruction between March and May 2025, with nearly 70% of structures in the area wiped out. Much of the damage was concentrated near the newly built Morag Corridor, alongside evidence of cleared IDP camps and damaged infrastructure. Verified footage sheds further light on how this destruction took place.

A7 Abroad: Sanctions evasion as a service

A7, led by convicted fraudster Ilan Shor and backed by sanctioned Russian banks, claims to have moved over $86 billion in less than a year. CIR’s investigation details how A7 uses shell companies and promissory notes, a form of trade-based money laundering, to evade Western sanctions. With most of its activity routed through China and new offices opening in Africa, A7 is emerging as a global sanctions-evasion hub.

Russian air strike on Yarova, Donetsk Oblast kills at least 12 civilians

On 9 September 2025, Ukrainian pensioners were collecting payments in Yarova, Donetsk Oblast, when a Russian aerial bomb struck, killing at least 12. This strike marks the highest loss of life in a single incident that CIR has verified since Russian ballistic strikes killed 44 in Sumy on 13 April 2025.

Between 2022 and 2023, Myanmar Witness verified forced evictions, arson, and airstrikes in at least 21 villages near the Letpadaung copper project in Sagaing Region. The Israel-Gaza Conflict Map

The Israel-Gaza Conflict Map is a map of incidents documented by CIR covering the Occupied Palestinian Territories (the Gaza Strip, the West Bank, and East Jerusalem), Israel, and Lebanon since 7 October 2023.

Incidents have been visually verified using videos and photos uploaded from the ground, as well as satellite imagery, to identify when the incident happened (date) and where it happened (location). Each piece of data has been analysed for authenticity by CIR Investigators.
